Ito The Arcane hails from The Netherlands and was formed in January 2016 by (ex) Dead End members Jeroen van Riet, Gunther Weerepas and Alwin Roes. Into The Arcane delivers atmospheric doom metalheavily rooted in old school death metal. "Het Verlangen der Geest" is their debut. The lyrics concern the darker corners of the mind and arcane historic tales. The band is currently promoting the EP and working on a full length album, to be expected in the winter of 2017/2018. Mixed and mastered by Robin Cornelissen (Pentacle, Morthra, Infernal Majesty).
 

Gaze into the Great Monolith and behold its horrors and glory! This is the essence of the practitioner's pursuit. Delving into the unconscious, the practitioners allow their limbs to move spontaneously by channelling the Great Monolith's sublime essence, leaving sounds that are stripped of any humanity or sense of physical awareness. It is in this state that Death. Void. Terror. endeavour to attain the purity that emanates from the Great Monolith. 

This purity may never be fully grasped or attained by any individual practitioner, resulting in it being essentially futile. Yet it is not fruitless, for the practitioner's purpose is to serve as a vessel for the Great Monolith's purity and not to attain any semblance of creative satisfaction. Practitioners must be bereft of such arrogance! As ambitious as the individual practitioner's pursuit may be, his pursuit of the purity expressed through the Great Monolith remains but that - a pursuit. 

By aiming to approximate the purity of the Great Monolith's transmissions, different approaches have been applied by individual practitioners, leading to correspondingly different visual manifestations that each serve as a separate aspect to the audial manifestations pursued by practitioners

Second EP of one of Portugal's most promising new bands, OCERCO's A Desolação. Set to be released as a special digifile CD nest, limited to 500 copies, A Desolação comprises three seamlessly linked songs of splendor and tension, trance and catharsis. OCERCO's sound stems from the post-black metal canon, but safely eludes the negative connotations associated with such an appellation. More accurately, the band's commitment to textural development and labyrinthine, drawn-out construction signal a strive for more complex corridors of spirituality. From there, A Desolação explodes and recoils, twists and turns, always bathed in an aura of the unknown and unease - and yet, its complexities are ever so subtle and most rewarding. Listeners will find a kinship to bands like Wolves in the Throne Rome, Altar of Plagues, Ash Borer, and the likes, but across the 20 minutes here, OCERCO stake a claim for their own identity.
