NWN has released Norway´s IMHOTEP magazine for the US, and Abigor joined the project by re-recording the most important ABIGOR hymn, Kingdom Of Darkness.
Tharen (back then called Rune), who already did the 1993 demo version, was asked to contribute the vocals. But not performing like he does on the excellent new AMESTIGON album, rather bringing back the atmosphere of the original. This turned out excellent and won´t be anything like the useless „modernized“ re-recordings but a true glimpse into the past.
Abigor's aim was to flare the original flame of the old days, as statement concerning the present BM scene, somehow disoriented in parts, lacking the ancient extremism and danger. Kingdom Of Darkness was reckless and uncompromising, just as Black Metal has to be. To underline this, Mr. Unhold has contributed passionate screams of torture and of victory.

Blast beats, trem-picked riffs, abrasive vocals and the obligatory lo-fi atmospherics, on the surface Ah Tza! is black metal by the numbers. Dig a little deeper and from the hypnotic depths of the EP emerge Xibalba’s strengths. While the trance-inducing riffs are repeated, the distorted dissonance of the harsh melodies brings the primeval to the fore and across the all-too-brief nine minutes of this EP, Xibalba cement their grip over the listener and drag them deep into their world.

Australia has long been a breeding ground for some of the most violent and chaotic varieties of black/death metal to have ever surfaced from the underground. Although it is almost certainly best known as the birthplace of the incomparable Sadistik Exekution, the Island Continent also later spawned the likes of bands such as Corpse Molestation, Bestial Warlust, Destroyer 666, and Abominator, all of whom began to thrive in the early to mid-1990s and espoused a distinctly bloodthirsty and uniquely Australian brand of extreme metal.

These elements have been expanded further than ever before on the newest full length ‘Æ.Thy.Rift’, which feels like it could be a funeral doom effort ran through a black metal filter. Each of the songs builds a thick atmosphere that feels like it’s going to pull you directly into the void, and it’s handled in such a way that uses the longer song lengths to its advantage rather than letting them feel as though they are dragged out.

Mefitic is an Italian black/death outfit that released their debut full length album, Woes of Mortal Devotion, through the infamous Nuclear War Now! Productions in April of 2015. The band has been lurking in the underground since 2004 but, despite a steady stream of demos since their formation, has yet to make huge waves in the scene. The band's earlier recordings focused on a rather raw and chaotic form of black/death metal, intrinsically bringing a sound similar to Black Witchery or Blasphemy, but with their full length the band has begun to break into a sound of their own.
Fans of Grave Miasma, Vassafor, Archgoat and Mitochrondrian should definitely check this out.

Provenienti dalla città di Adelaide, dei quali A Merging To The Boundless è l'ultima fatica.
Il loro black/death si ammanta di atmosfere rarefatte e al limite del prog, suonato con maestria, mantenendo una oscurità di fondo notevole.
Molto vario nei sette brani proposti, l'album richiama il black atmosferico di derivazione nord europea, le parti veloci sono perfettamente amalgamate a quelle dove la musica dei nostri diventa introspettiva, a tratti molto tecnica nelle ritmiche
Non c'è un solo brano in cui la band non risulti straripante nel suo tecnicismo che non risulta, però, mai fine a se stesso, offrendo oltre mezz'ora di spettacolare e malvagia musica oscura, assolutamente da non perdere.
