The rituals on "Ritual Music For The True Clochard" were previously released under different formats in close cooperation with various bands and labels. Thanks to Herr Deportator for his insane efforts to mix and master them very thoroughly the Urfaust way and compile them to a homogene full length.
This split album comes as a welcome surprise. Both these acts have ceased to be, so the excavation of lost material from the vaults is the Black Metal equivalent of the resurrection. Except it’s real, of course… For anyone who enjoys what could loosely be described as ‘raw, forest BM’, “Those Once Mighty Fallen’ is an essential purchase.
The lost recordings are surprisingly great (the best way to capture the spirit of a bygone era is to be literally of that era!) and have been re-mastered to ensure a better production than what I’d normally associate with Ildjarn in particular.

"Verses Of Fire's" sound has been carefully manufactured by Andrew Guillotin in Hybreed Studios. Focusing on a more organic side thanks to the use of tube amps and natural drums, the production allows the natural old-school feeling of the band to shine through the whole album. Through ten tracks, lasting about one hour, the band explores a wide spectre of extreme metal: from raging blast beats and thrashing riffs, though haunted mid tempo vibes, and up to the point of band's primal influence - the sinister sounds of early 90's black/death metal.
