After four quite different sounding albums as a duo, the Trondheim- based black metal band Gjendød has now returned with their 5th full-length.
It comes as no surprise that ‘Livskramper' also follows that path of constant changes, this time a ninety degrees turn, very well helped by the new drummer TK, who's most listened previous work might be the ‘Trøndertun'-session by Thorns. TK is another injection of mad supremacy into the spine of the band.
A fine and varied Black Metal album which includes a spectrum of feelings, from sheer passiveness to outraged despair, every second of the album is a life cramp.
All draped in the crushing sound recorded in the infamous NordStern studios.
A narcissistic scolding album of life, aggressively roared and whispered in dialect.
GJENDØD's brand new masterpiece ‘Livskramper' is a more than worthy beginning of the band's second era.
With artwork by Theodor Kittelsen.

Old school Swedish Death Metal!
Well, who doesn’t know Therion?? As anyone should know, back in the early 90’s they got widely known in the Death Metal scene through their demo’s, EP and subsequent album “Of Darkness…” offering old-school Swedish Death Metal at its very best!
But what many of you surely don’t know, is that while Therion was in fact still in its demo-days - we’re talking 1990 here - founding member Christofer Johnsson had another project called PROCREATION (together with Peter Hansson, also from Therion, and David Isberg from Opeth), which remained pretty much lingering in the shadows throughout the years.
Notwithstanding the quality of the music, only one official demo, an unofficial one and a putrid rehearsal tape were made, having been spread around only a very small bunch of friends and tape-traders at the time.
As the rottening coffin of black metal is carried to its grave, AO is the lamentations, the piss upon the gravestone and the defiling of the corpse. Yet, the resurrected hand striving upwards through the maggot-infested soil to claim, reclaim and proclaim its glorious rebirth.
Detached from the diluted, human main road that black metal today is treading, AO tramples a new, yet familiar and orthodox path in the darkest and most overgrown, forgotten of terrains.
No human cultivation but cultivation in the absolute sense of the Word

Pagan black metal band formed in 1991 in Wrocław, Poland.
Graveland’s style has changed from raw black metal on the early albums to a more epic sound which is inspired by Hammerheart-era Bathory. Lyrically, on the early works Rob Darken was inspired by Celtic beliefs, now he’s Wotanism-orientated and calls his music “epic pagan metal”.
