renowned label AOP Records and reached number 29 on the official
German album charts. Additionally, it was named one of the top 5 black
metal releases of 2021 by German Metal Hammer. These recent
successes, along with past achievements, highlight the band's continuous
development.
 
With nine releases, including six full-length albums, Agrypnie has created
an extensive discography that reflects the variety and depth of their
musical universe. This year (as of 2024), the release of their seventh
album is planned, while the drum recordings for the eighth album are
already completed.
 
Over time, Agrypnie has completed numerous tours and festival as well as
club performances, captivating their audience with their intense stage
presence and powerful performances.

To fans of black metal, Dødheimsgard need no introduction, being as they are one of the great purveyors of the Norwegian Black Metal creative evolution. The band was formed in 1994 by Aldrahn (Thorns) and Vicotnik (Ved Buens Ende). The early incarnation was that of a raw and at times melodic black metal band, with their debut album 'Kronet Til Konge' also featuring Darkthrone’s Fenriz on bass.

Over time Dødheimsgard became known as one of the premier avantgarde black metal acts after a stylistic shift away from their more old-school origins, as displayed on the band’s most recent output; ‘A Umbra Omega’ and 2023's universally-lauded magnum opus, 'Black Medium Current'.

Before Arcturus there was Mortem. Originally comprised of members now known from such classic bands as Arcturus, Mayhem & Thorns, Mortem was a leading act of the early Norwegian underground metal scene; their ‘Slow Death’ demo a highly inspirational work of early Norwegian extreme metal.

Formed by Marius Vold & Steinar Sverd Johnsen in 1989, Mortem was one of the first black metal bands to crawl out of the woodwork in Norway, releasing the highly coveted and brutal ‘Slow Death’ demo, with Euronymous & Dead of Mayhem acting as producer and cover artist respectively. After the release of ‘Slow Death’, the band was laid to rest with members going on to form and feature in acclaimed titans such as Arcturus and Thorns, both of which would become mainstays in the black metal scene and beyond.

This special release of ‘Slow Death’ contains the tracks newly recorded and reworked in a style more akin to the recent ‘Ravnsvart’ album material, plus also includes the legendary pioneering 1989 demo itself, with a fresh transfer from a new tape source. The new recordings also include a rendition of the old Mortem track ‘Satanas’, plus a cover of ‘Likferd’ (Funeral Fog) by Mayhem, this time sung in Norwegian. Joining the original line-up of Marius, Steinar & Hellhammer is Tor Seidemann of 1349 on bass guitar.
