The specially commissioned debut album from EITRIN brings together the talents of Vindsval (BLUT AUS NORD), Marion (MÜTTERLEIN) and Dehn Sora (THROANE) to celebrate 20 years of Debemur Morti Productions in fittingly unique and defiant style.

An instinctive record, written and recorded over a short yet intense period, "Eitrin" puts Marion's impassioned lyrical/vocal fury centre stage, reaching new heights when recontextualised amidst the inimitable cold melodies and otherworldly textures of Vindsval while supported by the unhinged howls, choral melancholy and painterly atmospherics of Sora.

Malist is a one-man black metal band formed in 2017 and hailing from Moscow, Russia. In only six years, talented multi-instrumentalist Ov Frost released four full-length studio albums, keeping an unrelenting pace.

Of Scorched Earth is the fifth record by Malist, which also marks the beginning of their collaboration with Avantgarde Music. In the words of its mastermind, “Of Scorched Earth tells a tale of mankind, and why it shall inevitably die in nature's grasp. The ships of those seeking conquest shall be forever buried in the sands of time. Only the few blessed by the primal deities shall be granted passage through the gates of apocalypse”.

Malist signature formula of atmospheric yet riff-driven black metal is brought back with the addition of a few elements of symphony and post-metal into the picture.

Russian blackgaze duo Olhava is back with their new studio album. Frozen Blooom is the natural follow-up to self-titled Olhava (2019) and Ladoga (2020), and integrates some dronescapes the band experimented on Never Leave Me Alone (2020), the drone version of their debut.

Multi-instrumentalist Andrey Novozhilov and drummer Timur Yusupov describe their new journey with words of thoughtful contemplation: “When winter is just starting to fade and give some space to the first steps of spring… When life starts to reappear and the very early flowers peek through the thawing soil, a sudden drop of the temperature can leave them petrified and frozen back again, punished by the “Queen of Fields”. This statuesque dead beauty, being infinitely alive and dead at the same time is the main metaphor of this album. Frozen Bloom is about unfulfilled dreams. About how we sacrifice everything today for some abstract “tomorrow”, which may never come. But tomorrow and yesterday don’t exist – only this very moment of static contemplation is real”.

Frozen Bloom is Olhava’s fourth opus in three years, and here the duo took some different routes compositionally. Two of the four tracks are traditionally storm-like blackgaze passages, while the other two are leaning towards a more meditative drone experience. The album also features A. Lunn, who kindly agreed to record an electric guitar solo as well as acoustic parts and choral parts on “Frozen Bloom I”.

Frozen Bloom was recorded at Olhava home studios, as well as at the local rehearsal space. Mikhail Kurochkin took care of mixing and mastering.

Formed in 1995 by erstwhile members of Katatonia, Naglfar, and Ancient Wisdom, Sweden's BEWITCHED were a devilishly fun proposition for those members to blow off some steam. And from their debut album in 1996 onward for the next decade, the band stood at that forefront of the burgeoning blackthrash resurgence that would gain steam as the ‘90s went on.

Originally released in 1996, Diabolical Desecration was BEWITCHED's debut album, and arguably the band's rawest and rowdiest recording. On this album, Katatonia's Blackheim made his only full-length performance, sharing vocals and guitars with Ancient Wisdom's Vargher, who'd then continue on as the band's primary vocalist/guitarist. Still fun ‘n' fiery as the day it was released, Diabolical Desecration can be neatly summed up with its opening track: “Hard as Steel (Fast as Hell)”!
