Dopo l'EP ""Pesta"" del 2020, giustamente intitolato, i norvegesi Mork riprendono la loro ascesa tra i ranghi della scena BLACK METAL scandinava con il quinto capitolo, ""Katedralen"", avventurandosi sempre più lontano dalle primitive fondamenta dei primi Darkthrone, pur mantenendo viva la fiamma cupa della vecchia scuola nel suo DNA. “Katedralen” è senza dubbio il lavoro più completo dei Mork fino ad oggi, spingendo nuove frontiere creative con un approccio più dinamico alla composizione delle canzoni e un'ampiezza estesa ai riff e alle melodie, tessendo un nuovo capolavoro di groove, durezza, grandiosità, tristezza, bellezza e potenza. “Katedralen” è stato eseguito, registrato e mixato dal leader Thomas Eriksen, con il mastering ancora una volta effettuato da Jack Control a Enormous Door (Darkthrone). L'album include anche notevoli apparizioni di Nocturno Culto dei compagni di etichetta Darkthrone, Dolk dei connazionali Kampfar, e infine Eero Pöyry dei maestri del doom Skepticism. L'artwork adeguatamente oscuro appare ancora una volta per gentile concessione del riverito artista francese David Thiérrée. Something dark, melancholic, and at times even sinister is haunting each of the eight tracks collected on NOÊTA's sophomore full-length, "Elm", which is lyrically based loosely on emotions connected to the eponymous poem by the celebrated American writer Sylvia Plath. The music of the Swedish duo comes with an inherent ethereal beauty, which is carried by Êlea's both lucent and lucid voice. The focus on the singer's bewitching vocals is further underlined by a subtle and nearly minimalistic instrumentation by her long-time collaborator Andris, who masterly captures and enhances the musical moods.
Taking their name from the ancient Greek philosophical notion of universal thoughts or ideas that exist independently of any agent having them, NOÊTA embark on their musical journey into the otherworld with the highly praised 2015 EP "psykhē", which also refers to classical Greek philosophy where it denotes the wholeness of a person. This was followed by the equally acclaimed debut album "Beyond Life and Death" in 2017, which added more depth and audible confidence to the duo's compositions.
With the recording, production and mix again firmly controlled by NOÊTA, mastering of "Elm" was for the first time left to the expert hands of Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio (MAYHEM, WATAIN). Guest contributions by KNOKKELKLANG and P.Stille of STILLA and BERGRAVEN also hint to Êlea's roots in black metal that remain present although her darkness takes a different stylistic direction.
"Elm" witnesses NOÊTA charting their very own left hand course through the rising tide of unique female artists such as CHELSEA WOLFE, ANNA VON HAUSSWOLFF or EMMA RUTH RUNDLE to name but a few of the highly individual female voices claiming their territory in the world of dark music.

Hardcore thrashers insisting that Assassin´s two early demos were superior to the re-recordings of the very same songs that ended up on the band´s debut album The Upcoming Terror might have a point. SYNING represents these times perfectly in their all-consuming bleakness and despair. Haunting and hopeless Black Metal performed by Cernunnus (Manii/Manes), Levninger (Knokkelklang) and V.Einride (Whoredom Rife), and needless to say, this is a Terratur Possessions related project that came together naturally through each others respective projects previously released by this label.
The result? Something different, yet hauntingly familiar. From the raging opening track Atter Igjen Kommer Mørket Krypende, to the slower, doomy Et Siste Skrik ('One Final Scream'), ending with the absolutely mezmerising track Fortapt, the project takes you on a ride towards the apocalypse and whatever lies beyond.

Obârşie is the Romanian word representing the concepts of origin, descent and source, whether it is the source of water in the mountains or an initiation ceremony.
