With this reissue of the long out of print debut we take a step back, and celebrate the album that started the procession now exactly a decade ago. "Mass I", rooted in the (post)hardcore and noise scene, reveals an ambitious outfit that are set to preach their distinctive blurring of genres and musical conventions. The original recordings' brilliance is finally revealed by Billy Anderson's (Eyehategod, Melvins, Neurosis, Swans) tremendous remastering. "Mass I" never sounded this full and powerful. The sound of a violin, that will be featured in another track too, is the prelude to the impending horror: sulphorous riffs and menacing (equally growling and high pitched as in their trademark) vocals perfectly intertwine with lugubrious keyboard that will haunt you along these 37 minutes of sepulchral Doom Metal, achieving what it could be considered their most sinister album to date.
