At long last, the full fathom of MOONCITADEL's now-transcendent powers arrives with the band's long-awaited debut album, Night's Scarlet Symphonies. If past MOONCITADEL recordings bore titles evocative of their respective contents, then surely Night's Scarlet Symphonies trumps them all: here is a bountiful feast of splendorous, widescreen black metal mysticism that's reverent of the mid '90s whilst channeling energies new and untold. Everything about MOONCITADEL's debut album - spiraling melodicism, folkloric atmosphere, impassioned performance, engrossing totality - maximizes the duo's previous works to their fullest potential, all threaded together by a never-too-raw soundfield that heightens these elements further. Which is to say nothing of its attendant song titles; over the course of its impossibly vast 47-minute runtime, some of Night's Scarlet Symphonies include "Ablaze My Heart With Falling Stars," "Nightwind was the Passage Between Worlds," "Whispering Cry of Magick Undying," and especially "Monumental Silver Thorns" all conveying this (monumental, silvery, magickal) headspace.
A new modern classic of old mystical black metal has hereby been born with MOONCITADEL's Night's Scarlet Symphonies!

"Sein / Zeit" is a conceptual split which takes inspiration from the work of Martin Heidegger, more specifically from the 1927 book "Sein & Zeit" ("Being and Time"). This seminal philosophical text, which attempts to get to grips with the meaning of being, provides the basis for an exploration of fundamental questions that underpin our understanding of human existence, with each band taking one of the two main themes.
Released by Blut&Eisen Prod and Third Eye Temple.

With the release of Cosmovore in 2018, Ulthar presented a twisted warped dystopia where furiously paced, inverted death metal and scathing, angular blackness defined a new way forward. Now the band returns with the grotesquely intangible Providence, whereby they stretch the fabric of previously trod worlds into idiosyncratic new forms and elevated levels of primal intellect. The unyielding Ulthar attack doubles down here with figures becoming more sickening and shapes more savage. An immensity like spiraling, ancient monoliths too tall to comprehend and bending inward upon themselves envelops adherents to this realm. Duly diabolic voices guide this odyssey through the incongruous caverns of absurdity, obscure texts and manifold vitriol. Released at a time where the world has devolved into a surrealistic nightmare of viral trepidation and encased solitude, Ulthar’s Providence becomes a prescient view into the strange paradoxes that only months ago seemed unbelievable but now all too possible. Where horizons cease, where grace is dead, where nothing lives, so be it amen.
