Concise melodies, sinister vocals and harsh tones as usual - these are just three things one has to expect on the new studio album of Beltez. Hailing from Germanys Rhineland area, the Band intensively explored the topic of death four years ago on their previous record "Tod, Part 1". Now they developed this concept further following Wayne Barlowes novel "God's Demon".
With ,,Exiled, Punished...Rejected" they took up Barlowes atmosphere, which death, intrigues and dying akin to classical literature and ancient Greek mythologies and managed to form it into a musical epic.

Mӕre - a malicious folkloristic entity creeping on sleeping people's chest during the night and causing breathlessness and anxiety. It's exactly this state of diffuse terror and paralysis that has been enshrined in HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY's music ever since their debut album. And now, more tales from feverish dreams are being released on January 29th in the form of the band's 5th longplayer "Mӕre", out via AOP Records.

As pioneers of the post movement, mixing haunting black metal with post rock moments, the Austrians have, ever since their conception in 2011, drawn fans and critics deeper and deeper into their maelstrom of melancholy, self hate and anger, and even reached #29 of the German charts with their previous release "Arson". And once again, several friends of the band entered the intoxicated world of HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY to guest on "Mӕre": While Alcest's front man Neige brings a haunting flair to 'Sing For The Damage We’ve Done', before the anonymous voice of Gaerea joins in on 'Silver Needle // Golden Dawn'. As session drummer, the band one again commited none less than Kerim „Krimh“ Lechner (Septicflesh, live Behemoth) in the studio and the atmospheric artwork was designed by Art of Maquenda.

Spirit Adrift refuses to slow down. With Enlightened In Eternity, Nathan Garrett, alongside drummer Marcus Bryant, has created yet another monument to the timelessness of heavy metal. And while this album builds on the sizable foundation established by previous releases, it also sets itself apart in formidable new ways, widening the scope of what Spirit Adrift can be. What this band has mastered, and where others have failed, is the ability to invoke the power of metal’s past, whether it be the ’70s, ’80s or even the ’90s, as one hears here, without ever feeling throwback or “retro”. The gorgeous guitar leads, melodies, harmonies and unforgettably heavy riffs benefit from a huge, timeless production quality. Bryant has elevated his drumming to new levels of intensity and tasteful subtlety. And as always, the tracks remain imprinted on the mind long after the album has finished. Whether it’s the ever-expanding catalog of incredible albums and songs or the searing live performances, the dominance of Spirit Adrift upon the current heavy metal landscape is now undeniable.
