Buio. Si accende un fiammifero. Il piano tratteggia un’elegante danza. Così si apre il sipario sul mondo sciamanico di Diego Cignitti, alias Cigno, prima che pulsazioni di bassi nero pece e cori da camera inizino a scandire l’incedere di “Colobraro”.

Inizia così una marcia inesauribile, fatta di invettive e sacrifici, di luci che squarciano le tenebre attraversando paesi ed epoche, inizia così “Morte e pianto rituale”, opera prima di questo cantautore laziale che, rinchiuso nella sua stanza senza luci, inizia a imprimere nero su nero idee e sensazioni.

Questo album rappresenta un viaggio intimo nelle profondità dell’anima. Attraverso testi poetici e intensi, Cigno esplora i temi della morte e della sofferenza, in un contesto quasi ritualistico. Le tracce sono costruite su basi elettroniche minimaliste, che si alternano a momenti di sonorità più aggressive e cupe. L'atmosfera dell'album è quella di un canto funebre moderno, dove ogni canzone diventa un rito catartico, una liberazione attraverso il pianto e la riflessione.

Unleashed Hymns is the second album from the Norwegian artist Fjøsnisse.
The one-man project was launched last year by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Anders Vada.

This album it’s released on vinyl for the first time.
They are a good example of very well executed Norwegian black metal with thrash metal elements.
Great vocals, thrash metal style abrasive riffs and relentless drumming there is actually a fair bit of ambiance and melody on here.

All the tracks have a very balanced amount of both melodic and harsh elements with smooth transitions in the guitar passages.
Then there is the beautifully serie and frostbitten instrumental The Wanderer, the closing song to what has been a very enjoyable album.

Unleashed Hymns is a cult-classic album, in particularly for those who enjoyed the bands that emerged as part of the Norwegian black metal scene in the 1990s.
A few de- cades later Fjøsnisse is continuing with the legacy.
